Final Assignment 2.0

Image
As I mentioned in the previous post, the task this time is to make use of the unused space and endow it with new functions.    Inspired by the stray animals in the school, we decided to create a space that integrates reading(for human), leisure(for both human and cat)  and entertainment(for cat). The target population of this project is the school cat, passing students or teachers, and school staff (such as the cleaning staff inside the teaching building). In the choice of roof material, we chose tarpaulin, which made our space lighter in volume (compared to the wooden roof we originally planned to use). We chose wood and cardboard as construction materials. In the production process for this assignment, I and another team member are tasked with making cat houses. Depending on the size of the cat and the size of the cat (the smallest distance to walk and can pass), we designed a series of cat doors and windows to provide ventilation and light. Here are some photos.

Its architectural style was unique, but the economic and cultural development of this period was slow (because of the huge damage caused by the war, the production was sluggish, and the building of houses was only for the sake of speed and economy. The aesthetic problems of foreign rulers) architectural development is also basically in a state of depression(Watt, 2010) . The regime of the Yuan Dynasty lasted less than a hundred years, and the development of various industries was slow, as was the construction industry. Therefore, most of the buildings in the Yuan Dynasty inherited the style characteristics of the Song and Jin Dynasties. The official architecture of the Yuan Dynasty continued to develop and progress on the basis of inheriting the architecture of the Song and Jin Dynasties(Qu,2018) , and became more rigorous and standardize...

Song Architecture

The buildings in the Song Dynasty were more delicate and beautiful, and focused on decoration. Retrieved from: http://www.sdhtjckj.com/news/472.html Song Dynasty architecture has the following characteristics: 1. Reduction of building scale Whether it is Tokyo(Dongjin), the capital of the Northern Song Dynasty, or Lin'an, the capital of the Southern Song Dynasty, the scale of its cities and palaces is far smaller than that of Chang'an in the Tang Dynasty ( Liu & Wu,2015) . Although this kind of architectural layout was related to the poor and weak national power at that time, it was mainly influenced by the Neo-Confucianism at that time. Neo-Confucianism advocated "preserving the principles of nature and eliminating human desires". The characteristics of "introduction", "introversion" and ...

Tang Architecture

Both cities have huge palaces, government offices and temples( Steinhardt, 2004) . 2. Huge Brackets&Far-reaching Eaves: After entering the Tang Dynasty, the construction of wooden structure buildings has entered the era of modular production  ( Zhou& Huang,2020) . After determining the bay and depth according to the hierarchical system, the craftsman in charge of the design calculated the size of each component, and then the carpenter began to enter into the programmed operation. After the partial components ...
