Visit to a Factory
This week, my friends and I went to a nearby plastic factory(a few miles away) to learn and record the process of making plastic.
First of all, I was very interested in wood processing (in order to compare the difference between handmade wooden furniture and factory wooden furniture), so I found a furniture factory on the map. But when we got there, we found that this factory and the factories next to it had been relocated. The residents nearby told us that all the processing plants here had been moved to the suburbs for the sake of ecology. Then my friend suggested a visit to a plastics factory she knew.
I got the following program diagram through the field records and sorting out the data. We first went to the first plastics factory in the industrial park, but the staff there told us that their production process was private, they were not allowed to visit. So we went to a factory next door.
Here, each worker is responsible for one process, and although there are many machines inside the factory, the entire production process is still completely dependent on manual operation. The person in charge of the factory told us that the factory had a system of product responsibility: everyone at each station had to take responsibility for what they produced.
Also, here are some photos I took from the factory. Because crude oil is purified indoors, the air in the plant is filled with an unpleasant smell of oil.
